20 S. Wacker Drive

The excitement starts and anticipation mounts a little before the 8:30 a.m. opening bell, when traders begin to gather in the pits, and the clerks assume their positions at the desks on the floor's outer perimeter.

The CME's interactive Visitors Center is designed to enhance their position as one of the world's most diverse financial marketplaces. It provides a multifaceted approach to help the public understand CME's story, the importance of financial futures to the world economy and how Chicago's financial markets affect daily lives. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and the Market Education Department can also arrange for group presentations.

Visitors can track how CME grew from its agricultural roots in the 19th century to a modern, financially-driven 21st century futures exchange that has expanded its product line to include trading in interest rate, equity and foreign currency futures and options on futures.
